The Village of Mineola Board of Trustees accepted the retirement resignation of Jim Bozlowski from the sanitation division of the Department of Public Works and authorized his benefit payout in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Board members noted Bozlowski’s long service; the record shows he worked "47 years" in sanitation. The resolution to accept the retirement and authorize the payout was moved by Deputy Mayor Sartore and seconded by Trustee Clark, and the motion carried on a voice vote.
The trustees also approved several personnel‑administration items on the consent agenda: authorization to post a clerk's typist position in the Village Justice Court, authorization to post a labor position in the sanitation division of the Department of Public Works, and authorization to post a parking enforcement officer position in the Department of Public Works. Trustees said postings anticipate upcoming retirements and seasonal needs.
Separately, the board approved hiring John Gabriel as an accounting intern from May 19 to Aug. 31, 2025, at $17 per hour for up to 15 hours per week. Trustees characterized the hire as a part‑time summer internship for a resident home from college.
Trustees moved and passed each item by voice vote; no roll‑call tallies were recorded in the meeting transcript. Staff will proceed with posting and recruitment under the village’s normal hiring processes.
