The items moved include approval of the Committee minutes (item 3); a leasing agreement with MGT Impact Solutions LLC for finance professional services (item 4); an ordinance to implement a municipal grocery retailers occupation tax and a municipal grocery service occupation tax (item 5); a contract with Griffin, Williams, McMahon and Walsh LLP for legal services (item 6); an agreement with Cornerstone Government Affairs for legislative consulting (item 7); a contract with America’s Parking for the 2025 pavement marking program (item 8); a contract with Stantec Consulting Services Inc. for naturalized stormwater area maintenance (item 9); a contract with Steve Spies Construction for Post 17 construction improvements (item 10); a contract with Homer Tree Care Inc. for parkway tree pruning (item 11); and a contract with Deconstruction Incorporated for the 183rd Street water main crossing (item 12).
Most items drew no substantive questions from trustees during the Committee meeting and were moved to the Village Board by motion and second; the chair directed roll-call votes and the motions carried as recorded in the meeting transcript. For the 183rd Street water-main crossing, a staff speaker identified as John said the project has been delayed about a year beyond the original estimate because utility companies have had difficulty relocating utilities; the contractor now hopes to complete the work in spring to summer of next year and identified the project as part of a Will County effort. That schedule was described during the Committee discussion but the Committee took no action beyond moving the contract to the Village Board.
The ordinance on municipal grocery occupation taxes was discussed only to the point of moving it to the Village Board; the Committee did not adopt or finalize tax rates or an ordinance number at this meeting. Several procurement and professional-service contracts were similarly presented, discussed with no substantive public comment, and placed on the Village Board agenda for final approval.
No members of the public stepped forward during the public comment period at the Committee meeting, and the Committee adjourned after forwarding the items for Village Board consideration.
