The proclamation, read aloud by Mayor Nicole Roberts, said infertility “affects approximately 1 in 6 people globally” and described the “physical, emotional, and financial toll of infertility and associated treatments,” urging the community to break stigma and improve access to care.
Mayor Nicole Roberts read the proclamation in full at the start of the meeting and asked the committee and attendees to stand for a photo after the reading. The proclamation thanked “health care providers, advocates, researchers, and organizations that support those affected by infertility” and said the township “stands in solidarity with the individuals and families in the community who are affected by infertility.”
The proclamation text, as read at the meeting, formally recognizes the week of April 20 through April 26, 2025 as National Infertility Awareness Week in Pennsauken Township and encourages residents to learn more and support those affected.
No formal vote opposition or public comment on the proclamation was recorded during the meeting. The reading concluded before the meeting moved on to ordinance business.
