Goodyear Ballpark reports higher attendance, revenue after spring training season

John Brown, assistant general manager for business development at Goodyear Ballpark, told the Goodyear City Council on Monday that the ballpark’s 2025 spring training season drew 152,118 fans, a 4% increase over 2024, and that the venue is projecting an 11% revenue increase across ticketing, sponsorships, concessions and the team shop.
Brown said the facility scheduled 30 games in 30 days and recorded only one rainout. He said the ballpark added a new ABS strike-zone replay system and premiered premium home-plate box seating that drew positive fan feedback.
The presentation highlighted several crowd and community events: a sellout March 8 game between the Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks; a “home run for life” event for a cancer survivor; kids’ “run the bases” events; senior strolls; and appearances tied to other sports figures. Brown credited game-day staff and volunteers for the season’s operations and said the ballpark remains active year-round with youth and high school events and summer tournaments.
Council members praised the season during the meeting. Council Member Cano thanked staff and volunteers and said the facility “shows really well.” Vice Mayor and other council members noted positive public safety visibility and strong community turnout.
No formal council action was taken on the presentation.
Looking ahead, Brown said the ballpark is preparing for Little League, high school graduations, summer tournaments and signature events including the Star-Spangled Fourth and a fall festival.
