The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) has certified Mill Creek’s 2024 comprehensive plan, city staff reported to the City Council. Director Ryan said the certification confirms alignment with regional and state planning goals and makes the city eligible for transportation funding administered through PSRC.
Staff praised the planning team’s effort to meet regional requirements on schedule. Director Ryan credited the planning director for leading the update and told council the certification “positions us to receive future transportation funding” and reinforces the city’s long-range planning alignment with regional growth, housing and environmental goals.
Council members thanked planning commission volunteers and staff for the work to meet deadlines and noted the certification helps the city remain competitive for transportation grants and regional collaboration. Staff said a copy of the PSRC compliance report and the certification letter would be circulated to the council.
No formal action beyond acceptance of the report was required at the meeting.
