The council unanimously appointed Shiloh Baker as Tooele City recorder, naming her clerk of the council and purchasing agent; Baker will be sworn in July 16 when the incumbent retires after 14 years as recorder.
Tooele City Council voted 5-0 May 7 to appoint Shiloh Baker as Tooele City recorder, a position the city charter directs the council to fill with advice of the mayor.
Mayor Debbie Wynne introduced Baker, who has served as administrative assistant to the mayor for 14 years, and praised her customer service and cross-departmental work. Wynne said Baker “will find a way to make sure that it is done,” and that Baker will also serve as the city’s purchasing agent and records officer; Wynne said Baker will be sworn in July 16, the last scheduled working day of the current recorder, Michelle Pitt.
Baker expressed appreciation for the council’s support, said she loves “Tooele City” and pledged to work hard for residents and staff. Councilman McCall moved to approve Resolution 2025-31; Councilwoman Goches seconded. The motion passed 5-0.
