City Engineer Tom Cobbs said three bids were received for the project and described the work as long-term maintenance enhancements intended to reduce annual maintenance costs and extend asset life. He identified the funding as coming from the special-purpose tax originally authorized by the 2012–2017 ballot for Christiansen Road and reported a remaining balance in that account sufficient to cover the contract after previous encumbrances.
Cobbs said scheduled completion is November 2025. A council member commented on city spending that day; no public commenters registered opposition in committee. The committee moved and seconded a recommendation to accept the TC Solutions bid and forwarded the contract to City Council for final approval and execution.
Staff noted the account balance (as of Jan. 30, 2025, per the staff statement) was approximately $1,769,804 remaining after previous encumbrances; that number was provided in the staff report as available funding for Christiansen Road work.
