City Construction Manager Doug Klon said the project focuses on intersections and ADA upgrades across multiple locations to improve pedestrian access and compliance with Department of Justice guidance. The city received five bids and Miller and Sons was the low bidder at $642,479.86.
Council members noted the value of the work and one member commented the city is saving money by selecting the low bid over a higher alternative. There was no public comment in committee. The recommendation to accept the bid will be presented to City Council for final approval and contract execution.
Funding for the project is from the 2023–2026 optional 1% sales tax fund, and staff said Miller and Sons has worked for the city previously on similar projects.
