The Cheyenne Finance Committee on May 6 recommended that City Council approve up to $185,878 to purchase two rotary mobile column lift systems from ACE Equipment and Supply Company, with one set for fleet maintenance and one for the sanitation department.
Craig Lloyd of Public Works explained funding will be split equally between the fleet maintenance fund and the solid waste fund. He said the lifts will be placed at the fleet maintenance facility on Happy Jack and at the sanitation department to assist mechanics.
A motion to approve the expenditure not to exceed $185,878 was moved and seconded in committee and recommended to the City Council without public comment at committee. Staff recommended approval and said the equipment will improve maintenance capabilities for heavy vehicles.
The committee forwarded the recommendation to the May 12 City Council meeting for final action.
