The Fish Camp Firewise representative told the council the community’s Firewise application is approximately 98% complete and that volunteers are finalizing a boundary map and several small items before submission.

Firewise reporter said a colleague prepared most of the application and volunteers will have a second reviewer look the package over before filing with the state. The representative said they expect to submit the application within about a week and to have a clearer status update by the council’s July meeting.

The Firewise representative said neighborhood assessments were aggregated into percentages (for example, roof materials, defensible-space characteristics) for the application rather than calling out individual properties. Volunteers described the application as an overall community risk assessment with corresponding recommendations and noted the process will move to state review after submission.

Council members asked for a timeline; the Firewise representative said final edits and a map should be complete within a week and the group will submit the application to state reviewers and report any state response at the July meeting.
