Comprehensive plan vendor selection After a competitive RFQ process the committee voted to send a positive recommendation to the full board for the county’s comprehensive plan update with the selected team of Chastain & Partners in partnership with 1861. The staff presentation said the chosen proposal came in at $99,410.48 against an initial budget of $150,000, and that prior planning work reduced baseline research costs.
Morse Sand & Gravel site plan A site plan adjustment to 24ZBA001 (Morse Sand & Gravel) was approved by the committee. The amendment removes a previously approved processing plant from the project; staff said the change does not alter the SUP limit of work and therefore no full‑board action is required.
Solar farm petition tabled Petition 25 ZVA 001, a Community Energy Initiative solar farm on Gore Road, was tabled to the May 28 committee meeting. Committee members made a motion to table and it will return to committee on that date.
Claims and routine business The committee approved claims and heard monthly reports from staff; the director noted that battery energy storage system (BES) information was distributed to local fire departments and that several additional solar petitions are in pre‑application or have been recently filed.
