The Woburn City Council on Aug. 19 approved a minor modification to a previously issued special permit for Gurbani Jasmine LLC (doing business as Tandoor and Curry) at 902 Main Street to allow indoor seating for eight people and made several conditions part of the approval.
Attorney Joseph Tabby, representing Gurbani Jasmine LLC, told the council he submitted a revised floor plan and site plan and said the building commissioner and planning staff reviewed the materials and concluded the change qualified as a minor modification. "The plans have been reviewed by both Commissioner Quinn and the building commissioner," Tabby said.
The council adopted a set of conditions tied to the site plan of record dated 08/12/2025 and added a condition that on-site parking must reflect the parking plan on file. Other conditions required dumpsters to be enclosed consistent with the municipal code, prohibited double-parking in front of the premises, required ongoing pest and rodent control, removed pallets from the rear alley, and kept any prior special-permit conditions in effect unless modified.
Councilor D'Amambo โ who reported conducting a site walk with the petitioner โ proposed the added parking condition so that the physical arrangement of two food-truck units and a refrigerated unit in the rear would free two spaces toward Main Street; the council adopted that condition unanimously.
The council also received communications filed by the petitioner and accepted the proposed operating conditions as a working draft earlier in the hearing.
Looking ahead, Tabby and the petitioner were reminded that adding indoor seating will require applying for a common victualler's license. The council did not record a roll-call vote with named yes/no tallies; the motion and second passed with the usual voice vote. Good luck and compliance instructions were offered to the petitioner as the item concluded.
