City of Farmers Branch council members and staff on Tuesday discussed proposed changes to the council travel expense policy, and members said they were mostly in favor of exempting short-notice legislative travel from the full approval process.
Erin Flores, deputy director of administrative services and deputy city secretary, told the council the city updated the council travel policy in January to mirror the city’s employee travel rules and that staff proposed an amendment to "exempt any travel related to legislative items" so elected officials could attend time-sensitive hearings without delay.
