The city's deputy city attorney told council on May 6 that a code enforcement lien for 512 Caroline Street —originating from a June 2022 Code Enforcement Board finding and accruing more than $60,000 in fines—was reduced after a new owner purchased the property and executed a compliance agreement.
Deputy City Attorney Mueller said the new owner demolished most of the deteriorated structure, removed windows and debris, and brought the property into compliance under the agreement; the city accepted $5,682.50 as settlement under the compliance terms. Mueller said he did not believe the property was currently listed for sale.
This report was informational; council did not take further action at the meeting.
