La Quinta water polo players honored by Desert Sands board after CIF Southern Section selections

Tamara Watkins, public information officer, announced that La Quinta’s girls water polo team advanced to the Division 6 semifinals and nominated three student‑athletes for all‑CIF designation. The honorees named in the meeting record were senior Eliana Padron (all‑CIF first team, led the team with more than 50 goals), junior Isabella Garczynski (all‑CIF second team, more than 40 goals) and freshman Mallory Del Campo Hartman (all‑CIF third team, more than 40 goals). Watkins noted each athlete maintained a 4.0 GPA in addition to their athletic contributions.
Trustees and the superintendent congratulated the athletes for their performances in competition and in the classroom. The recognition was ceremonial; no board action was required.
