Board approves $6,000 county contribution to TJPDC regional housing study participation

The Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors approved May 7 a $6,000 contribution to the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) so the county can participate in strategy development for a regional housing study.
County staff said the $6,000 request covers a tailored strategy-development portion that will produce county-specific housing strategies and toolkit resources, supplementing the broader regional study that TJPDC began in 2019. Outcomes include updated data analysis, a regional housing report and a consumer-facing report. Staff said participation would involve county staff and optionally board members and that the product would help the county consider where housing growth should occur and what tools to use.
Supervisor discussion supported participation; Supervisor O’Brien moved approval and Supervisor Hodge seconded. The board approved the $6,000 participation and a budget transfer from FY25 contingency by a 5-0 vote.
