An Adams County committee voted to forward to the county board a rezone request by Dennis Dilson to change a parcel at 1004 County Road J from R-1 single-family residential to A-3 secondary agricultural.
Planning staff said the applicant appeared in the town of East’s review and that the town did not object at its April 15 meeting. Staff reported phone contact with adjacent and nearby neighbors — Macy Armstrong, Gilbert Brennecke and Patsy Faulkner — each of whom told staff they had no objection. The highway department also reported no concerns.
During committee discussion staff noted either A-3 or A-1-15 zoning could work for the property and that A-3 would limit the number of animals more than A-1-15. The committee moved, seconded and voted to pass the request to the county board for final action.
