The Public Works and Highway Committee voted to award a $677,237 contract to Wolf Paving Company to reconstruct about two-thirds of Pleasant View Drive.
Staff said the project covers Pleasant View from Bonneywell South to Lovers Lane and is part of a segmented ARIP bid package that capitalizes on favorable pricing from recent bids for nearby Rockfield Road. “As a reminder with the ARIP program, there’s a 90% reimbursement from the state,” the staff member said, adding that “this portion of the work will cost the village approximately $61,000.”
Committee members said the construction estimate used by staff had been $780,000, which staff described as a historical “construction estimate” rather than a fixed budget number. The awarded low bid came in below that estimate, so the committee approved the lower contract amount. Staff estimated work would start this summer and be substantially completed by about October.
The committee moved and seconded the award and approved it in its meeting vote.
The committee also noted that the southern third of Pleasant View remains to be bid later after the design for a Menomonee River crossing is finished; that portion will likely be bundled into a future winter bid for work next year.
