Council: UGI will repave streets late summer–early fall after utility work; residents warned of interim rough conditions

The Public Works committee told borough council on April 21 that UGI's ongoing utility work will be followed by repaving later in the year, likely in late summer or early fall, and council asked that residents be informed about interim road conditions.
Committee chair Mister Anders reported council and staff had spoken with UGI and confirmed that once UGI completes line work and restorations, the utility will repave the trenches. "They will get repaved, but it'll be late summer, early fall when UGI will be able to pave the over the the strips where they've torn up the roads," Anders said. Council members acknowledged residents' concerns about rough roads in the short term and urged continued communication.
Council also noted borough Public Works has paving projects planned that will run alongside UGI's restorations and that the borough ordinance requires restoration across the full traveled way in many cases. No formal council action was taken; this was a committee report and status update.
