The Village of Carol Stream swore in three trustees to four-year terms at its village board meeting. Judge Robert E. Douglas administered the oath to Trustee Matt McCarthy, Trustee Jeff Berger and Trustee James M. Guthrie, each pledging to support the U.S. Constitution, the Illinois Constitution and the ordinances of the Village of Carol Stream.
The swearing-in preserved continuity on the seven-member board as members resumed their duties. Mayor Savarino said the ceremony was appropriate and noted the evening’s formalities before moving on to regular business.
The board also approved the minutes of the board’s April 21, 2025 meeting. Trustee McCarthy moved to approve the minutes; Trustee Guthrie seconded. The clerk called the roll and recorded unanimous ayes.
The trustees’ oaths followed standard language read aloud by the judge and repeated by each trustee, promising to “faithfully discharge the duties of village trustee for the Village of Carol Stream.”
No substantive policy decisions were made during the swearing-in itself; the board proceeded to scheduled recognitions and business after the ceremony.
