Courthouse restroom renovation bids exceed estimate; commissioners send proposals to Community Development

Director Burns read two bids: Langless & Associates at $747,197 and BMY Construction at $794,000. The project covers renovation of second- and third-floor public restrooms (four bathrooms in total, staff clarified).
Commissioner Anderson noted the engineer estimate appeared to be about $600,000, and Director Burns said she had used the low end of a range of estimates (about $600,000–$750,000) in preparing the estimate. The council voted 10–0 to refer the bids to Community Development for evaluation and recommendation before contract award.
The referral asks Community Development to evaluate scope, budget and potential impacts on the capital program and return a recommendation to the council.
