Council amends Centerville Corporate Park plat condition so recording can proceed without waiting on all easement signatures
Summary
The council agreed to delete a sentence in a prior condition so the amended plat for Centerville Corporate Park can record while owners work to finalize grant-of-easement amendments; the Redevelopment Agency had already approved the easement changes and the developer said it has sent documents to other owners for signature.

The Centerville City Council approved an amendment to a prior plat-approval condition for the Centerville Corporate Park at 500 North Marketplace Drive so the amended plat can be recorded without waiting for all grant-of-easement amendments to be signed by every owner.
Lisa (city staff) explained the background: in January the council had approved a final-subdivision-plat amendment and included a condition requiring that proposed amendments to grant-of-easements and restrictions be recorded "prior to or concurrent with the recording of the amended plat." The applicant asked the council to remove the second sentence of condition No. 10 so the plat recording would not be delayed while the developer obtains signatures from other property owners in the park (for example, Chick‑fil‑A). Lisa said the Redevelopment Agency had already approved the easement amendments and staff did not want to hold recording of the plat solely to wait for additional private-party signatures.
Michael Petragorge, representing the applicant, told the council the documents had been sent to the other owners for signature and that the applicant preferred not to have the boundary-line adjustment held indefinitely. He said the applicant has the ability to amend via RDA ownership if necessary but wanted the plat recorded now to allow flexibility, such as marketing a second building for sale.
A motion to amend the prior approval by deleting the second sentence of condition No. 10 carried unanimously. Council staff said they will continue to work with the applicant and any other property owners if further easement adjustments are required.
