The McLean County Finance Committee on May 7 approved a resolution amending the funded full-time equivalent positions for the Highway Department to reflect current staffing needs for civil engineers.
Administrator Taylor described the change as an adjustment to civil engineer positions to meet the department's needs. Jerry Stokes of the Highway Department said the department had two Civil Engineer 1 positions previously and a vacant Civil Engineer 1; two Civil Engineers left and the department has a candidate who will start on Monday for one of the Civil Engineer 2 positions if the staffing amendment is approved.
The committee supported the change and the resolution passed in open session.
