Committee plans graveyard reenactments; will start with two cemeteries and seek costumes and volunteers

The committee considered narrowing the list of historic figures to portray but instead proposed staging reenactments at two cemeteries in the first year — Burnett Cemetery and OBG — with the possibility of additional sites in later years.
Committee members discussed permissions and noted they have obtained permission for Burnett Cemetery and would seek Select Board permission for other sites. They also said they are seeking costume donations and additional volunteers to portray historic characters and to help with the programming.
The committee said the reenactment could be thematic — for example focusing on Revolutionary-era figures in one year — and suggested pairing reenactments with seasonal activities such as cider tastings to broaden appeal. The project lead said she will continue recruiting volunteers and coordinating costume donations and will return with a more detailed plan.
