Council enters executive session to discuss pending litigation and confidential economic-development information

Hudson City Council voted unanimously on May 6 to enter executive session to discuss pending litigation and confidential information related to an economic development applicant’s marketing plan and financial statements.

Councilor Sutton moved to enter executive session pursuant to Hudson codified ordinances §220.05(B)(3),(5) and (7) to discuss both pending litigation matters required to be kept confidential and information directly related to the marketing plan, specific business strategy, production techniques, trade secrets, or personal financial statements of an applicant for economic-development assistance. The motion named invited participants: all members of council, the mayor, the solicitor, the city manager, the economic development director and the community development director. The motion was seconded by Councilor Berg; the motion was later amended by the mover to include the two assistant city managers.

Mrs. Wheeler conducted a roll-call vote; Councilors Goetz, Heater, Kowalski, Sutton and Berg each voted yes, and the council then recessed into executive session by a 5-0 vote. The mayor said the council did not anticipate any further public business other than to officially adjourn after the executive session.
