New volunteer nominee to be forwarded to Select Board after Tricentennial Committee vote

The Alisalpro Tricentennial Committee voted to nominate a new volunteer for formal appointment by the Town of Southborough Select Board and said it will place the nomination on the Select Board agenda at the next available meeting.

The committee’s vice chair, Andrew, said the committee makes a recommendation to the Select Board and that “it would be an appointment at the select board,” and that the Select Board meeting on June 3 (the first Tuesday) would be the likely venue to complete the appointment. A committee member moved to nominate the volunteer at this meeting; the motion was seconded and advanced without extended discussion.

New volunteer applicant Kito Senti introduced herself to the committee, saying, “My name is Kito Senti. I moved here with my husband 3 years ago…we absolutely loved it in Southborough.” Senti said she is interested in fundraising and marketing support for tricentennial events. Committee members encouraged Senti to attend the Select Board meeting in June either in person or via Zoom and noted that Select Board meetings are hybrid.

The committee chair said they will follow up with the nominee about Select Board agenda scheduling and badge pickup. No formal Select Board appointment occurred at the committee meeting; the committee’s action was a nomination/recommendation to the Select Board.

Committee members asked that the nominee be prepared to join the Select Board meeting via Zoom if needed; the committee noted the nomination will be on the Select Board agenda and that the committee will coordinate next steps with the nominee.
