Citadel Security demonstrates mobile surveillance capabilities to Cleveland EDC

Justin Owens, a representative of Citadel Security, presented mobile surveillance trailers and analytics to the City of Cleveland Economic Development Corporation at the board's meeting.

Owens said Citadel provides “mobile surveillance trailers for construction, events” and fixed “physical infrastructure surveillance for buildings and home developments.” He described features that, he said, include natural-language searching across recorded footage, license-plate “capturing with non license plate cameras,” face-detection and auto-tracking PTZ cameras that follow people as they move through a site.

The presentation emphasized officers' and event staff access: Owens demonstrated a “public live view link” he said can be shared with law enforcement to display multiple camera feeds in real time. He cited examples where the units were used, including a unit “by the old Western Auto building,” monitoring at a Humble Independent School District football game and at a livestock show and rodeo. Owens also noted people-counting and fast-moving-object detection for traffic or safety monitoring.

Board members did not vote on procurement or adopt any policy after the demonstration. At the close of the presentation, a board member thanked Owens and the meeting moved to the next agenda item.

The presentation was informational; the board did not direct staff to take further formal action on Citadel's offerings during the meeting.
