District staff reported May 7 that the Washington State Auditor's Office completed exit interviews for the district's 2023 financial and accountability audits and issued two clean audits with no recommendations or comments.
"The district has received 2 clean audits with no recommendations or comments from the state auditor," Michelle Clark told the committee. Clark said the district expects to take up audit work for the next audit cycle at a later date and characterized the schedule as giving the staff "a couple months break" before the next audit work begins.
Chair Reagan Dunn said achieving and maintaining clean audits has been a priority for the district and complimented staff for keeping expenditures under budget and for sound planning and execution.
