The King County Flood Control District Executive Committee adopted a motion May 7 to align the district's staffing and personnel policies with the most recent standards used by King County's legislative branch.
Stephen Shower, the district's deputy executive director, said the change "incorporat[es] the most recent and applicable standards of King County's legislative branch employees and equipment and facilities policies" and will support a performance-evaluation framework intended to help staff success.
Committee members had no substantive objections. Supervisor DeShawn Quinn moved the motion, the clerk recorded three ayes and zero nos with Vice Chair Perry excused, and the committee adopted the motion under its authority to take final action on personnel matters.
The change adopts county standards into the district manual and is intended to provide a clear, consistent set of guidelines for district employees and managers.
