Republic council approves annexation and final plat for new residential lots

The annexation ordinance "approving the annexation of approximately 9.9 acres of property located at 4297 South Wilson's Creek Boulevard and adjacent right of way" passed on final passage by roll call, with the clerk recording the motion as carrying 8-0-0.
Separately, Patrick Ruiz, associate city planner, presented the Harper Ridge Phase 3 final plat, saying the application from Vester Properties LLC would divide approximately 7.6 acres into 21 medium-density single-family residential lots and convey dedicated right-of-way, utility and stormwater easements to the city. Ruiz said the plat includes roughly 1,592 linear feet of new street and 1,479 linear feet of new sidewalk and that the proposal conforms to the preliminary plat approved on Oct. 26, 2021 and to City Code Chapter 410 subdivision regulations and Article 5.
Staff recommended approval. Pursuant to the charter, council took the requested second reading during the same meeting and approved final passage on roll call; the motion carried 8-0-0.
There was no public comment on either item and no amendments to the proposed documents recorded during the meeting. The ordinances were read into the record by the clerk as required by city procedure.
What happens next: The city will process the annexation and file the final plat per the terms of the approved documents; staff did not present additional conditions at the meeting.
