Abdullah Bagheri, owner of 13211 Ridge Drive, asked the council to change his property's sewer category from S‑6 to S‑3 so he may connect to the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) low‑pressure sewer main on Valley Drive or Cleveland Drive. He said the WSSC conditionally approved his sewer‑service connection request in May 2024 with the county—s sewer‑category change as a primary condition and that he will pay the design and construction costs for the low‑pressure main extension within the public right‑of‑way.
Bagheri stated his application is consistent with the Potomac Subregion Master Plan sewer service policy (February 2002) and that WSSC identified existing capacity to serve his property. The council closed the public hearing after the single speaker and noted written materials could be submitted through May 16, 2025.
Next steps: Staff will review the submitted materials and the WSSC conditional approval as requested and return recommendations to the council in a subsequent Transportation and Environment Committee work session.
