Mayor Stanford Tack took the oath of office and said he would “discharge the duties of said office to the best of my ability.” The council also administered the oath to newly elected aldermen: Pete Clemens (first ward), John Powers (second ward), Nick Bosfeld (third ward) and Rich Walder (fourth ward).
After the swearing-in, Tack presented his recommended appointments for council confirmation. The council approved the appointments, as listed by the mayor, to fill administrative and legal roles: Jason Witche as city supervisor, Katie Skibbe as city treasurer, Margaret Boyer as city clerk, John Burke as city marshal and collector, Ansel Glink as city attorney, and Walt Hamilton Associates as the city’s surveyor and engineer. A council motion to approve the mayor’s appointments was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
City Manager (unnamed in the meeting transcript) welcomed the new members and noted prior service by Alderman Bosfeld on a local board, specifically mentioning his work as finance chair while he served on the Gordon board and his collaboration with city staff on a recent special-use-permit amendment.
There were no public comments during the meeting and no contested votes on the organizational items. The council moved on to other agenda items after approving the appointments.
