Staff said it is focusing on state grant cycles and will avoid most federal grants due to the additional reporting burden and limited staff bandwidth.
Staff also briefly shared regional infrastructure information from a recent meeting with county commissioners and Quileute tribal representatives: Morrow Road (access to Rialto) will be closed for reconstruction in 2026 and Upper Hole Road is scheduled to reopen with a late-spring ribbon-cutting; Second Beach parking and restroom capacity remain acute regional issues, with tribal partners noting large seasonal visitation and ongoing concerns about public waste and parking-safety configurations.
