He said the hospital had issued monthly financials in the past but had not shared information for the previous eight months and that public records requests were not producing financial statements.
Tozer also said the hospital had entered into closed‑door talks with Jefferson Healthcare about a potential merger and asked whether the county would seek accountability by requesting the hospital release recent financial statements and update residents who voted for the levy.
The commissioners received Tozer’s comment during the public‑comment period. The meeting transcript does not show the board taking formal action to write a letter to the hospital at that meeting.
