Heritage board to notify 2024 HAP grantees: no follow-up questions

The Clallam County Heritage Advisory Board voted to send notice to 2024 Heritage Assistance Program (HAP) grantees that their progress reports require no further follow-up. The board’s action instructs staff to email each grantee advising that the board has no outstanding questions about their submitted reports.

Board members reviewed progress reports for projects including painting restoration and storage upgrades at local institutions. Staff reported that required contract reports were due May 1 and that documentation and scanned materials have been provided by applicants. "The contract indicates they need to provide a report by May 1," a staff member said.

After asking whether staff should follow up with applicants, board members agreed that staff would email grantees if there were outstanding questions. A motion to send a notice that there were no follow-up questions was moved and seconded; the board proceeded with that action and staff said they would send the emails that week.

The decision was administrative: it does not change grant awards or contract terms and simply confirms that submitted progress reports were satisfactory to the board and staff. Board members said they prefer to contact grantees only when follow-up is needed.

Next steps: Staff will email each 2024 grantee confirming receipt and that no additional questions remain unless issues are later discovered during administrative review.
