City staff presented the downtown parking-lot design and bid results and recommended awarding to the low bidder.
The project will construct a parking lot at the southwest corner of North Eleventh Street and East Hall, providing 57 stalls and including sidewalks, ADA ramps, irrigation and electrical conduit for parking-lot lighting, plus streetscape improvements on North Eleventh between East Hall and East Huney. The engineer’s construction estimate was $550,000.
Bids opened publicly yielded low offers: McCullough Construction LLC at $511,085, Western Grama LLC at $515,286.98, Gunner Contracting at $595,307 and other higher bids. Staff recommended awarding the contract to McCullough Construction LLC.
Councilman Judd moved to award the contract to McCullough Construction LLC in an amount not to exceed $511,085; Councilman Whipple seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Staff said sidewalk work in the nearby block is already underway and construction will be coordinated to minimize overlapping work.
