Board approves HopeSource contracts totaling roughly $610,000 for senior and youth homelessness programs

Kittitas County commissioners on May 6 approved two professional-service agreements with HopeSource to fund homelessness services for seniors and youth.
Public health director Chelsea Levers presented a senior-support and advocacy PSA that will provide just over $500,000 from the county homelessness fund over two years. Levers said the program will deliver case management, rental assistance and connections to services for older adults.
Levers also presented a separate two-year PSA allocating $110,000 from county homelessness funding to serve as local match for a larger HUD demonstration grant targeting youth homelessness. That program is aimed at people ages 18–24 and will support emergency, transitional and permanent housing, case management and related services, Levers said.
Commissioners expressed appreciation for HopeSource’s work; both agreements were presented as recommended professional services and advanced without recorded objection.
