NASH COUNTY, N.C. — The Nash County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 6 accepted an independent audit for fiscal year 2023–24 that provided an unmodified opinion on the county’s financial statements and noted five findings, most related to documentation rather than questioned costs.
The county’s finance director, Mary Hogan, introduced Alan Thompson, a partner with Thompson Price, Scott & Adams, who presented the audit results covering July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. Thompson told the board the auditors issued an “unmodified report,” a standard phrase auditors use for a clean opinion, and that they encountered “no difficulties” in performing the audit.
