Morton board approves MFT joint-funding agreement and $5,000 IDOT supplemental for FY 2026 projects

The Morton Board of Trustees approved two public-works resolutions related to Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds during its May 20, 2025, meeting.
Director of Public Works presented Resolution O1-26 authorizing a joint-funding agreement for the MFT fiscal allocation; the village’s allotment was listed as $9,524.29 for participation in the Peoria Peak and Urbanized Area program. Trustees adopted the resolution by roll call.
The board also adopted Resolution O2-26, an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) supplemental resolution that increases the village’s MFT allocation by $5,000. Public works staff said the village was still under the budget submitted Feb. 25 after IDOT flagged some items (for example, spray patching) and that price conditions remained favorable.
Both resolutions passed by roll-call votes.
