FirstEnergy reports storm restoration numbers to Monongalia County officials

The Monongalia County Commission on May 7 made public correspondence from FirstEnergy summarizing the company’s response to the April 19 storm.
According to the letter and the summary provided to the commission by Chrissy Michael, FirstEnergy’s local engagement specialist, the company deployed a total of more than 475 workers (internal and external) for the response. The letter reported that the company replaced 88 poles overall, 35 of them in Monongalia County, and replaced 41,000 feet of wire; total customers restored were listed as 63,600. The county posted that additional resources and details are on FirstEnergy’s site, recorded in the meeting as “firstenergy.corp.”
County staff thanked the FirstEnergy representatives and noted the effort was substantial. No formal county action was required or taken on the correspondence beyond making the report part of the public record.
