Weber County hears developer briefing for Westbridge Meadows; water, WMA buffer and transportation alignment raised as key condition points

Weber County planners and the developer of the Westbridge Meadows master plan briefed commissioners on a proposed rezoning and development agreement for roughly 13,199 (presented also as 13,200) dwelling units to be constructed over a 30–50 year timeframe on largely vacant grazing land south of the Union Pacific railroad, between the Weber River and 7500 West.

Planning staff said the planning commission approved a recommendation (6–1, with one commissioner abstaining noted in the record) and provided the county a verbatim motion and materials; staff and commission members stressed the project will return to the county commission for a hearing and a requested decision within weeks, not immediately. The project proposal includes concentrated higher density (about 10 units per acre in parts), large donated park sites and trail corridors, and a proposed mix of public and private open space that staff said totals several hundred acres.
