Pasadena ISD trustees approve 2025–2030 strategic plan after yearlong review

PASADENA, Texas — The Pasadena Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a new district strategic plan intended to guide district priorities from 2025 through 2030.

The board adopted the plan Tuesday during a special meeting after a presentation by district staff and recognition of steering committee members who helped prepare the document. "It's my privilege to, bring to you tonight our district's ... strategic plan," Dr. Lopez said during the presentation.

The plan is the result of about a year of research and collaboration with administrators, parents, teachers, students and community members, Dr. Lopez said, and includes updated demographic information and district highlights. Dr. Lopez acknowledged Dr. Darla Massey Jones and the strategic planning steering committee for their work on the effort.

Trustee Marshall Kendrick moved to approve the 2025'2030 strategic plan; Trustee Kenny Fernandez seconded the motion. After brief remarks from trustees praising the work, the board voted in favor and the motion carried. Trustee Nessa Sullivan said she was "really excited," noting prior previews of the plan had impressed her and that the plan focused on areas where the district can grow.

Board members and staff applauded committee members present at the meeting. No trustee recorded opposition on the voice vote.

The board's action formally adopts the plan and updates district demographic information and highlights as part of the district's multi'year guidance. The board did not attach any conditions or amendments to the adoption during the session.

The district will proceed with the plan's implementation and any subsequent updates will return to the board as required by district procedures.
