Board reports pipeline of beachfront condo restoration projects; parking and timing limit near-term events

Board Chair Barbara Nestle and members described confirmed work or interest at Delray Sands Resort, Parker Highlands, 45 Ocean, Boca Highland Beach Club and Coronado. Several condominiums are mid-restoration for concrete repairs, which limits capacity to host board events this year. Parking constraints repeatedly emerged as a main barrier to scheduling on-site events.
Why it matters: condominium cooperation is central to dune restoration efforts because many dunes front private properties; the board’s outreach aims to coordinate plantings, invasive removal, public education and volunteer events across multiple properties.
Key points: Delray Sands is hosting a Nov. 12 event (see separate article). Parker Highlands is undergoing concrete restoration and parking will be constrained until the proposed Milani Park (planned later phase) provides public parking (board members discussed 2026–2027 as realistic target years for some events). Board members reported 45 Ocean’s leadership is receptive to planting sea oats to mask a seawall once engineers confirm structural needs; 45 Ocean indicated willingness to host up to 60 people when restoration permits.
Supporting details: Boca Highland Beach Club reported in-house restoration with its contractor and declined outside assistance for now; Coronado managers are moving from seawall completion toward beach work. Several managers said they would consider hosting presentations once construction and parking issues resolve.
Next steps: board members will continue manager outreach, share sample invitations and coordinate timing so events occur after major restorations or when Milani Park parking becomes available. The board agreed to target at least two outreach events per year once parking and restoration windows permit.
