At the meeting, Mr. Thomas presented the corrected resolution and said staff had previously rushed to meet a deadline and later discovered the language “didn't apply to the program that we wanted to apply for.” Councilmember Jones moved to approve Resolution 2025-02; Councilmember Potter seconded the motion. City Secretary Lopez called the roll and the motion carried unanimously, 6-0.
The resolution authorizes the police chief to complete and submit the application; the council did not vote on awarding funds because that decision will be made by the grant administrator if the application is successful. No public comment was recorded on the item.
Councilmembers did not alter the match percentage or attach conditions to the application during the meeting. Staff confirmed the 20% match requirement remains in place.
