At the May 6 meeting the Ocoee City Commission conducted the first reading of an ordinance to annex approximately 0.36 acres located at 283 Tenth Avenue and to reclassify the property from Orange County R2 residential to City of Ocoee R1 single-family dwelling district.
City staff said the annexation application was submitted by the property owner and that the annexation and zoning change were found consistent with the Ocoee comprehensive plan and the city code, including the joint planning area agreement. The ordinance text reads that the council finds the annexation and zoning classification consistent with the comprehensive plan, authorizes updates to official city maps, provides for severability and sets an effective date.
The commission set the second reading and public hearing for May 20, when members of the public will have an opportunity to comment on the annexation and zoning change.
