Council approves gambling raffles and liquor permit requests

At its May 6 meeting the City of New Ulm City Council approved three permits: a lawful gambling raffle permit for the Sertoma Club of New Ulm to conduct raffles at the Brown County Fairgrounds on Aug. 12, 2025; a lawful gambling raffle permit for the New Ulm Girls Fastpitch Softball Association to conduct raffles at Jefferson Elementary School on June 14, 2025; and a liquor permit for the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce to serve alcohol at the Business of the Year celebration at German Park on June 12, 2025, subject to compliance with city and state requirements.
Each item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote without extended discussion.
