Inspector Jonathan Lemestri, City of North Miami Neighborhood Services, said the property at 340 NW 130th Street is abandoned, boarded and overgrown and that he opened a notice of violation in November 2023. He said the home’s condition depresses surrounding property values and that the city has photographed the damage and posted notices.
At the hearing the building official (recorded in the transcript as Shira) told the magistrate, "we already sent this case to the unserved structure board, and it's gonna be here next week on the fourteenth." She said the city will exhaust due process with the unsafe‑structure board, after which demolition is a potential outcome if the county board so rules.
The magistrate entered an adjudication and ordered property owners 30 days to resolve the violations. "If the violation is not resolved by the abatement date, there will be a daily fine amount of $350," the magistrate said.
The record indicates the building department has advanced the case to the unsafe‑structure board and that the city will proceed through that process if owners do not remediate the property.
