At least one commissioner said the county had requested specific information about how the two floors would be used and that the museum had been reluctant to provide it. “I would vote for a shockingly good rate for this museum if they would tell us what’s going in on those floors,” one commissioner said, adding that if the museum will not share its plans, the county must consider market rent or other tenants.
A motion to give the museum a four‑month extension initially failed to reach consensus after votes to reconsider; the court ultimately approved a two‑month extension by a 4–1 vote. County staff told the court they will present additional information to commissioners during the extension, including market rental comparisons and any consultant analyses requested during prior continuous‑improvement reviews.
