City staff propose $118.4 million budget opening to fund waterline, airport, IT and capital projects

South Ogden City staff presented a proposed budget opening totaling $118,395,800 at the May 6, 2025, council work session, saying the package would recognize loan proceeds, grant revenues and excess investment income and move funds across city accounts.

The proposal matters because it would recognize a WIFIA/state loan for the city’s waterline project, provide FAA match and equipment funding for the airport, accelerate IT and facilities replacements, and move money into several capital projects and holding accounts that administration says are needed to proceed with planned work.

“It’s total increase to the city budget of a hundred and 17,000,000 with an additional 646,000 also being increased to the strike force funds. So the total budget action is a hundred and 18,395,800,” the staff presenter said. The package combines amounts carried forward from investment gains with newly recognized state and federal awards.
