The council approved: the Creekside annexation resolution (city‑initiated clean‑up of city‑owned parcel segments), the Johnson Nowd annexation petition (property owner‑initiated for an island parcel near 1600 North/300 West), and the Riverbottoms Road annexation resolution (to tidy boundaries around the River Run/Riverrun townhome project and include an interested property owner on the east side of Riverbottoms Road).
David G. Anderson told the council these are procedural steps permitted for islands and peninsulas and, where applicable, county coordination had already occurred. The Creekside item was billed as a clean‑up to bring a city‑owned parcel fragment into the municipal boundary. The Johnson Nowd annexation was filed by owners and will be followed by zoning decisions later; staff flagged that industrial zoning may be appropriate but no zone change was proposed at this step.
The council also approved multiple landowner petitions to remove parcels from agricultural protection pursuant to statutory procedures; staff characterized those as property owner requests and routine removals for parcels already in non‑ag uses.
Each resolution passed by voice or roll call vote with no further public hearings required at tonight’s meeting; zoning or development approvals would be handled in separate proceedings where applicable.
